DynaScan 360 Degree LED Video Display Finding Many Applications
- Cylindrical LED Adds to Digital Signage Success -
Irvine, CA (November 6, 2004) – DynaScan Technology Inc., is finding acceptance of its cylindrical Light Emitting Diode (LED) display that can be viewed all 360 degrees. The firm has shipped over 300 units to transportation centers, retailers, stadiums, shopping and entertainment locations around the world. Staging, trade show and display rental companies have added to the rapid success of DynaScan’s self-contained 360 Degree LED displays.
“Vivid, dynamic, visual communications in public locations for advertising, branding, information and public safety is growing dramatically in importance”, said Alan Kaufman, VP, Sales of DynaScan Technology, Inc (USA) adding “DynaScan offers a highly visible communications.”
Digital signage offers product and service providers a new medium for informing, educating and influencing, often closer in time and location to when a selection or purchasing decision will be made.
Digital signage will gain an increasing share of the $149 billion in advertising spending, comprised of TV $53b, newspaper $46b, radio $20b, magazine $17b, Internet $8b, and outdoors $5b according to a December 2003 report by Zenith Optimedia.
Ad rates for digital signage are attractive to advertisers, with CPM rates for digital signage in the $2-6 range versus newspaper at $20 and TV at $25, newspapers at $20, magazines at $9-20, outdoors at $8 and Internet at $10.
Additionally, the prime targets for advertisers can increasingly be reached more successfully in shopping locations than through broadcast advertising. According to Nielsen Research, US adults, 18-49 years of age, for example, make 200 million visits to stores in the top 3 grocery chains, and 80 million WalMart visits over a 4 week net reach period. In contrast, NBC, ABC and CBS would each reach 91-94 million viewers in the same period. This illustrates a shift in future advertising toward dynamic signage, which bodes well for DynaScan’s unique LED displays.
DynaScan was presented a prestigious Gold National Award of Excellence by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) in recognition of its innovation for the world’s only 360? LED Video Display. The firm has received eight major awards and recognition since its inception in 1998 from organizations such as POPAI (Point-of-Purchase Association International), the USA National Association of Broadcasters, InfoComm and others.
